1. The topic of this piece is gun control and the author believes that we should better evaluate who can obtain guns instead of banning it. 
2. “President Trump is now reportedly considering the idea of gun restraining orders, which have the ability to quickly take firearms away from those considered dangerous, like the shooter in Parkland. A variation of this law is already on the books in California. In 2016, 86 of these restraining orders were issued, and 10 were extended past the initial 21-day period they were granted for.
3. The author acknowledges the other side, banning guns altogether, and goes on to explain why the answer is actually to “evaluate who can obtain these weapons.
4. The article isn't convincing enough, despite the interesting personal anecdotes, because the author doesn't provide enough empirical everyone to support her viewpoint.
